I learned to paint Plein Air, (Outdoors) Alla Prima, (wet on wet), when I studied at the University of Utah. I have also attended several workshops in Southern Utah and Colorado. It is challenging but fun to pack up your supplies & portable easel to different locations. The light changes as the sun moves and these works have a certain look to them as they are painted in a small window of time. These are always in Oil.
The paintings of Flowers I paint from a "still life" set up. These are done in Acrylic paint. I do these with a sense of urgency to get the session done before the paint drys. This gives them a painterly quality.
